The art intervention “Machinerija” will be performed as a live dance installation. Our aim is to create an atmosphere of the socialism era, which is well remembered by the older generations, but is somehow hidden from youth because the political reluctance to openly talk about the era still persists.  We will create a one-day intervention in the centre of Maribor town, composed of a live dance installation inspired by the system of Rube Goldberg machine. This machine, contraption, invention, device, or apparatus is originally a deliberately over-engineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task in a very complicated fashion, usually including a chain reaction. Our machine will run just for a few phases. After that the purpose is to invite people from the audience to get involved in the system. The audience will have the opportunity to influence next phases of the system by including various props available at the scene, or by their own activities.
